A new 18 track album is being released for mid January 2023 from THE IAN WALKER BAND comprising Ian Walker, Jimmy Scott and Moe Walker.
The Band are delighted to have the support of some legendary veteran musicians.
John Graham founding member of “The Clydesiders” (and John Graham & Jim Jack) on fiddle, bass and mandolin
Alan Reid founding member of “The Battlefield Band” (and Alan Reid & Rob van Sante) on accordion and piano
Stevie Lawrence of Rallion and, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers and Iron Horse on percusssion
Fraser Speirs the master international blues harmonica player (featured in Paulo Nutini’s performances and albums)
The tracks include some all time classic songs by Tom Paxton, Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson as well as traditional songs and songs from Ian Walker and others including Matt McGinn, Jim Boyes, Anthony John Clarke, David Cowan, Francis Fahy and Bruce & Walker. There is also a live unaccompanied farewell “sing” around a single mic which included Jimmy Scott, Moe Walker, John Graham, Alan Reid, Mary Reid and Ian Walker followed by a couthie live set of Appalachian fiddle tunes by Scott Walker accompanied by Ian Walker on banjo to finish off the album.
